This cross is called “Adelaide”. Adelaide from the House of the Guelphons was the daughter of Henry Duke of Brunswick and the first wife of Andronikos III Palaiologos, later Emperor of the Romans.
Byzantine Cross embellished with fine filigree and red enamel. The decoration and the shape of this cross show the influence of Byzantine art.
